AirDrop Records are wetting their knickers as they are dying to officially announce their next digital release! Guess by who? Fase Miusic Sender of course, accompanied by fellow Buenos Aires producer Sr. Replicante who gets into the Miusic spirit and knocks us backwards with his rump-shaking remix!
Fase Miusic Sender, the Buenos Aires audio-visual quadruplet who recently supplied a massive mix accompanied by a stunning animated video clip exclusively produced for AirPod, outgun their successful track “Missing Keyframes” (released on AirDrop’s recent “Extraction” compilation) by delivering a follow-up that’s clearly heading towards “Disaster”!
Welcome to the wicked world of Fase where music, painting, street art and motion graphics all warp into one! The collective, founded in 2000, is consisting of the four artists Gustavo Gagliardo, Leandro Waisbord, Pedro Perelman and Martin Tibabuzo, who live and operate in Buenos Aires and Germany.
Simultaneously working on various audio-visual DJ/Production-VJ-projects, the Fases produce multi-discipline shows that abduct the audience, taking them straight into their very own Mundo where Detroit’s musical underground and Jean-Michel Basquiat’s paintings are cross-bred references which helped to shape their very own vision of things.
“Veo Mi Terraza” is a genius strike: Executed and performed by Gustavo and Pedro, the two musical brain children that are the driving forces of Fase Miusic Sender, this deep and eerie exploration of sound is pure experimentation aimed at the floor. The groove is the driving force: Using powerful kicks and basses coming right out of the lowest stratospheres of the planet, they create a dark robotic atmosphere and fill it with strange climatic micro tech sounds consisting of aquatic planes, metallic clicks, slippy glitches and video-gaming bleeps (also key elements of their gripping live set).
Employing graphic language, Fase keeps fantasy, synthesis, abstraction and powerful colors as main focus, which can be felt in “Lejano Oeste” which paints a raw and seductive picture of something that cannot quite be grasped although it’s compelling enough to move any floor.
Sr. Replicante, a true Buenos Aires original whose deep love for all Detroit and wonky has had great influence on the Argentinean youth, does a great job bending the original into a the wobbly “Veo Mi T-RAW-ZA” multi-layered, tricky affair that sounds neither easy nor going. Demanding total attention, it slowly hi-jacks the senses and takes over the body. Resistance is futile!
Building their own universe consisting of organically evolving structures, Fase Miusic Sender is readily adapting to the evolution of music. Music that’s creating visuals, visuals creating music… The circle is complete.
